Kushal Perera & Graetian Gunawardhana

Hands Group’s philanthropic journey has been shaped by the combined leadership of Mr. Kushal Perera and Mr. Graetian Gunawardhana, whose commitment to community service spans decades of structured, hands-on engagement.

In 2013, both leaders partnered with Lions Club District 306B2 to carry out charity programmes focused on feeding and supporting street children by providing meals, care, and encouragement during periods of extreme vulnerability.
These initiatives were grounded in a shared belief that meaningful social progress begins with dignity, inclusion, and access to opportunity. Their work laid the foundation for a CSR philosophy that prioritises continuity over one-off gestures, and long-term care over short-term relief.

Lions Club Partnership & Child Welfare

Kid Care Home & Resident School - Ragama

One of the most impactful philanthropic initiatives supported through Lions Club District 306B2 was the establishment of the Kid Care Home & Resident School in Ragama, created to support street children under the age of 10. This was a project by Lions District 306B2 which will continue under the patronage of PDG Lion Graetian Gunawardhana.

The programme operates on a shared-responsibility model, inviting individuals and families to become foster parents by contributing a nominal amount of Rs. 3,500 per month. Foster parents may support known children or participate in the programme as adoptive sponsors by helping ensure consistent care, education, and stability for children with no permanent homes.

In support of this mission, the Lion Ladies Association, led by the Patron Lion Lady Sriyani, also organised an additional fundraiser and collectively raised a total of Rs 30 million, including a donation from Kid Care International.

Built and governed under the leadership of Lion Graetian Gunawardhana, the facility provides:
